Clinical trial started: Preparations for children's vaccine to arrive by mid-July

The World Health Organization has talked about making the children's vaccine available to the whole world in view of Kovid-19. US President Joe Biden has also called for the delta variant to be dangerous for children and ensure arrangements for their vaccination as soon as possible. India has taken many steps in this direction. It is expected that by mid-July, the children's vaccine can be developed and a schedule for their application can be issued. Clinical trials have started in AIIMS Patna and Delhi.

According to sources in the Union Health Ministry, the way clinical trials of children's vaccines have started in the country, it is estimated that by mid-July, children's vaccines will start being made and their schedule will also be decided. However, the process of vaccine development after clinical trials takes a certain amount of time. A senior member of the Union Health Ministry's committee to monitor the vaccine being made for children says that the speed with which the work is being done towards making the vaccine, it is being estimated that in the coming few days, children will be given Its dosage will start.

Clinical trials of children are being done in three phases

The process of developing vaccines for children is divided into three phases. According to the doctors of AIIMS Delhi and AIIMS Patna associated with the clinical trial, in the first phase, the clinical trial of children of 12 to 18 years has been started. In the second phase, these trials will be conducted on children of 6 to 12 years and in the third phase, children of 2 to 6 years. Further arrangements are to be made after seeing the progress of the first phase.

A senior scientist associated with the vaccination campaign in the country says that still pregnant women and lactating women are being vaccinated. The vaccine has not shown any effect in children, especially after a dose of the vaccine is given to lactating women. Although this vaccine is completely for adults, but from a scientific point of view, this vaccination system also makes the path easier in clinical trials.

According to the Union Health Ministry, by the end of this year all people above the age of 18 years have to be vaccinated. During this time, vaccines prepared for children will also be started. This suggests that the plan to vaccinate all children above the age of two years, adults and the elderly, will soon gain momentum.
