Covaxin trial is going on on children

In view of the danger of children in the third wave of corona, ICMR has approved the trial of the vaccine on children. After this, Bharat Biotech's corona vaccine Covaxin is being tried on children at 8 centers in the country. Patna AIIMS is also included in those centers. Dr. CM Singh, who supervises the ongoing trial here, says that so far, 27 children aged 12 to 18 years are being tested in the first phase.

Antibodies found in children in vaccine trials

Patna AIIMS Dean Dr. Umesh Bhadani says that the trial of vaccine for children is going on fast in the country. Before testing the vaccine in children, children are screened. It also includes blood tests along with RT-PCR. In the first phase of the trial, trials were conducted on children aged 12 to 18 years. When the corona test of the children who came in this was done, it came negative, but antibodies were found. He told that antibodies were found in 20% of the children in the blood test done before the vaccine trial.

Those in whom antibodies were found, they did not even know when corona became

Dr. Bhadani told that the children in whom antibodies have been found, they do not have any history of corona. There is no history of corona even in the house, because before testing the vaccine, the history of the concerned child and parents is searched. They did not even know when the children got corona and when they got cured. The family did not even know about it.

What is antibody

Professor of the Department of Microbiology, Nalanda Medical College, says that antibodies are the immunity prepared in the body to stop the virus attack. Antibodies are made when the virus enters the body. In such a situation, the body's immunity fights against the virus and kills it.

He told that during this time immunity fights in two ways. One cellular immunity and one humoral immunity. When humoral fights, antibodies are made. During this time other types of immunity are also prepared. After this, the next time that virus attacks, antibodies and other cellular immunity protect the body from the virus. If a person has ready antibodies against the virus, then it will work to completely protect the body from the attack of that virus.
